This was painted from a photo I took on the Island of Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts of a VW Beetle under a tree in someone's driveway. In the original photo, the VW Beetle was blue and rusted, the tree in the painting is an actual representation of the tree the car was under in the photo. The car looked like if it could talk, it would have some stories to tell, so I tried to imagine what one of them might be by painting this scene. The car was made red instead of blue to stand out against the blue water.
